A guide for sites that ship to Australia for those hard to find brands

Mail Forwarding

Shipito: Shipito provides customers with a US address for online stores that don't ship to Australia. There are many shipment options available and they provide the ability to consolidate several parcels into one larger parcel if you sign up for a monthly subscription fee. There is also the option to pay per use.Customer service is fantastic and they offer a 24 hour chat service if you ever need something answered quickly. They also offer an assisted purchasing system which allows you to buy from shops like MAC and Sephora who only accept US credit cards Be warned, parcel forwarding services can become extremely expensive and are often not worth it if you just want one or two items.

There are other parcel forwarding sites other there (Parcel It On is one with good reviews) but Shipito is the only one I have used and feel happy recommending.

Tips

A word of warning - if it seems too good to be true, it probably is. High end makeup brands (especially MAC) are known for fakes. If something is retailing for $35 in the States and you find it online for $5 I guarantee you it is not the bargain of the century. The Beauty Junkee has a great post on how to spot fake MAC products.

Always remember to do a quick search for any current coupons as it could save you a few dollars at the checkout. Student discount sites like My Uni Days provide discounts for members at certain online stores and often have promotions with further discounts.
